About Us
is-bitmex-legit.com is a single-topic editorial publication. We answer one question, in one venue, against the current platform state — and we update the answer when the platform moves.
Who we are
We are an independent editorial desk. We have no commercial relationship with HDR Global Trading Limited or with any of the exchanges referenced on the site. The desk is staffed by writers and analysts with a market-structure background, not by affiliate marketers — there is a structural difference between the two and we want it to be visible.
Why this site exists
The "is bitmex legit" query keeps surfacing because the answer is genuinely non-obvious and because most of the search results are dated. A 2020-era review is no longer descriptive of how the venue runs in 2026. We publish a single comprehensive answer that we maintain, rather than ship-and-forget content with an old date stamp at the top.
Our remit is narrow on purpose. One platform, one question, kept current. Wider crypto-exchange coverage is well-served by larger publications; the long-tail intent behind is bitmex legit is not.
Editorial methodology
Each review is structured against the same checklist. The output is opinionated; the underlying observations are not.
- Operating record. Years in business, legal entity, founder line, any custody breaches on the public record.
- Custody architecture. Key management model, cold-versus-hot allocation, segregation, controls available to account holders.
- Solvency proof. Whether the venue publishes Proof of Reserves and Proof of Liabilities, how often, and whether the verifier is independently runnable.
- Verification flow. KYC steps and what they require from a user.
- Cost surface. Live fee schedule, with the published rates we can verify against the venue's own pages.
- Product surface. What is on the platform and what is not.
- Structural comparison. Where the venue diverges from the rest of the field, not the lines where everyone is roughly equivalent.
Sources
We link sources inline where the underlying numbers move — Proof of Reserves, fee tiers, BMEX staking, the verifier code. A reader can sanity-check our figures against the live pages without taking our word for them.

Conflicts of interest
None to disclose. We do not run affiliate links to BitMEX. We do not accept payment for inclusion. We do not accept payment for changes to the editorial verdict. If that ever changes, this page will say so plainly.
Corrections
If a published figure is wrong, or a platform feature has moved since we last covered it, write to the editor. We will date-stamp the correction at the top of the affected page.
